First you lose your saddle in Houston
Then you break your leg in Santa Fe
And then this happens in Amarillo
Why cruel world why

Lets all just be REALLY happy this wasn’t pantex cargo. All the same, dayum, what a scary looking wreck and a real tragedy for those on the train.

Cargo way better than tank cars, still tragic though. My company maintains some BNSF emergency response equipment in the northwest, they are about the most prepared RR in the country for accidents.

Yeah, those trains really haul ass out there. In this day and age, something like this really shouldn’t happen. Even if they had seen each other, though, there’s no way they’d ever be able to stop in time.

You’d think with modern technology, a tragic headon like this could not happen.

As of today a friend of mine works for BNSF tells me the 3 missing are dead.

I would have been shocked if they weren’t. Bad stuff.

this proves it can:
it just needs one human being making the wrong decisions at the wrong time.

Indeed - I’m surprised we’re allowed to make any of the crucial decisions. MTA, if I understand correctly, is virtually all switched by computer.
